Good Manners Obedience Training for the Family Pet
|
 |
| |
Your instructor, Julie Humiston, got a great education working with shelter dogs for several years, helping them with behavioral issues. She was a full-time professional petsitter and dogwalker and has a wealth of experience with many different dogs from toy poodles to St. Bernards and every All-American mutt in between! She trains and shows her own dogs in competitive obedience, agility, tracking and herding. In addition, she has varied experience teaching humans of all ages and skill levels, so she knows how to work at the other end of the leash too!

Julie is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT), through the first and only independent national certification testing for dog trainers. She is also Red Cross certified in Pet First Aid. She teaches both good manners for the family pet and formal obedience for the competitor, and is committed to keeping people and their canine friends happy together. She is a professional member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and the MN Trainers' Roundtable, and regularly updates her knowledge of dog training through continuing education.
Julie has always lived with and loved dogs and currently has a Border Collie named Mischka, and a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix named Portia.

. . .you saved us and our dog from our ignorance. He is doing so well, and I can see that we could have really turned him into a beast. He is improved in all areas that we have worked on. Thanks very much.
-- Elise S.
