Dogs and Quarantine
I have to laugh when I see something online telling you how to entertain your dog during the quarantine. If the humans are at home, the dogs are getting way more entertainment than they usually get when they are home alone all day. They’re getting lots more walkies too, from what I’ve seen on the streets.
But here’s something you might want to think about. Dogs can get used to a routine (especially one they like!) pretty fast. If . . . I mean, *when* you suddenly go back to work, your dog might not be too thrilled about losing his all-day BFF.
Separation anxiety is not a fun thing for anybody. Make sure your dog doesn’t get way too attached right now. Leave him home alone sometimes. Go for a walk with just your human family. I know that sounds crazy, but isn’t your dog getting a lot more walks than normal? When you go to the grocery store, don’t put the dog in the car.
Do fun stuff with your dog, but make sure they remember how to survive home alone.

The struggle is real! I have been rotating in and out of the office for a week at a time and my furry family members are a bit confused. I’ve been trying to be very intentional so as to avoid separation anxiety….been there and done that…don’t ever want to do it again. Thx for sharing!
